A few new additions to the clay studio:
- plastic containers
- new stamps
- letter stamps
- humidifier
- glaze pitcher and mug
- glaze pitcher
I’ve added some plastic containers to my collection. Ice cream buckets, bowls and a couple sets of the cheap plastic containers with lids that come in various sizes (not pictured).
I also bought a plastic pitcher. I’ve been using this to extend some of my glazes. When the glazes get low in the buckets I can’t dip bisque pieces with any kind of height to them. So I pour the glaze in the pitcher which is just wide enough to fit a mug or skinny vase. The glaze fills the pitcher much higher so I can dip pieces easily.
I’ve also added to my stamp collection. A very nice girl gave me a set of mini letter stamps at the end of our surface class this summer. The set is only $0.99 at Walmart but she said she wasn’t going to use it any more after the class. The larger stamps are there just to show how small the new set is. The other picture shows some more stamps that I made out of clay and bisque fired.
My wife let me have a humidifier that she didn’t need. I don’t know exactly what I’ll do with it but I’m sure it will come in handy some day.
Earlier today I mopped the studio floor and started recycling more clay. Remember that bucket of clay I was recycling before? I got a total of 37 pounds of usable clay! I also wrote an article for my other site about recycling clay. Thanks for checking in. Be on the lookout for some mugs and statues from the clay studio in the near future.
