Shot Glasses or Tiny Cups

I love making these tiny little cups. First, they are easy and quick. Second, they are great for testing glazes. Third, they fill in spaces between the bigger pieces in the kiln.

All fired wheel thrown, stoneware clay, fired to ^6 in oxidation.

Bowls Are Few and Far Between

I just haven’t made a lot of bowls lately. Cups are a higher priority right now. I like the shape and they are a easier to glaze. Since I’m still mostly experimenting with glazes the cups have been much more in demand.

Here is one small bowl that I really like. I love the shape and the glaze is nice. Jen’s Juicy Fruit over Dark Brown on the outside. I wish it were a little larger.

Wheel Thrown Cups

A selection of cups from recent firings. All fired to cone 6 in oxidation.

My Favorites

These four juice cups are made with Buff Stoneware by Amaco. Light Brown glaze on the inside and Dark Brown on the outside with Jen’s Juicy Fruit around the tops, running down.
