Clay Studio Notes: July 2014

Ahhhh, I love summer break. I’ve been using as much of my time off as possible in the clay studio. I just completed a round of glazing and the kiln just passed 1000 degrees. I should have enough stuff for a 2nd firing if I get some of the big bowls glazed. I’ve actually been so busy doing other things that I put this blog entry on hold for almost two months. It was originally going to be Clay Studio Notes from May 2014.

Studio Notes: February 2013

The alternate title of this post that I was rolling around was “What I Really Got for Christmas” as a callback to my previous post about a clean and remodeled studio. As you’ll see, I have done my fair share to help the economy, especially the clay tool and pottery literature economy.

I love tools. Any kind of tools but especially clay tools. So it was a great day when I saw that ClayKing.com was having a Black Friday sale. Some things were over 50% off! I picked up a few rollers which I hope to use for texture and maybe add some interest to handles.
