The past few weeks have kept me pretty busy. I’m at the Middle School teaching art until the end of the year, the track season just finished last week, and I’ve been trying to do some things around the house and throw some pots when I have time.
I transfered to the Middle School to take over for another art teacher on maternity leave. She left a week before she was supposed to so I felt like I was thrown in without enough preparation. But I’m having a great time. I’m a little behind on a grading projects and keeping things organized since I haven’t had much time outside of school due to track. There are only 7 more student days so I have to grade projects, hand them back and get grades entered into the computer.
We just had our last track meet last week and then an awards program the next night. In fact, I was at the school until at least 5:30 every night except one last week. We finished 2nd place at our conference meet last monday and we had a great season. I really enjoyed coaching the guys we had this year. Now all I have to do is pull a party together, sort out ribbons and awards, and get season results typed and printed.Â
My wife has been landscaping the front yard. She didn’t like the flower bed so she pulled out all the flowers and a few bushes and put down about 18 million bags of rock. It looks good. I’ve been mowing the grass, doing odd jobs around the house, and trying to organize my studio, garage, and computer room. Last weekend I got the garage cleaned up. I sectioned off my clay studio with some plastic sheets and I’ve been working on the wheel a little bit when I have time.Â
