I’ve got some images of pots from my August glaze fire. Below are some of my favorites:
- wheel thrown mugs
- textured blue cups
- stoneware berry bowl
- saturated iron vases
- mixing bowl with handle
- celadon blue mugs and vase
- barely blue yarn bowls
- barely blue word mugs
- barely blue berry bowl
All wheel thrown stoneware with cone 6 glazes. Mostly Celadon Blue and Saturated Iron by Coyote. You can check my Facebook Page for a few more pots.
I’ve been refining some forms and trying some new things. The berry bowls and mixing bowls have come out nicely. I’ve experimented a little bit with adding some texture to some of the pieces. I also have some interesting implied texture by splattering Eggshell glaze over Saturated Iron glaze (both by Coyote) to get some glossy but rust-like effects. See the large images of the brown vases and mugs for good examples of this.
I’m still behind as far as posting on the blog. I finished another glaze fire last weekend. I’ll finishing photographing those results and get them posted when I can. I’ll also have some photos of my work from the summer surface class that I took. And I hope to get a quick summary of my Tour of Michiana Pottery from yesterday. Stay tuned and thanks for reading!
