I’ve been a little busy lately… but here are some pics of my latest pots. Which seem like old news to me since these were finished in September, just in time for the Middlebury Fall Festival. Pretty good results though.
- frosted bowl
- tumblers
- textured, wheel thrown bowl
- textured cup
- textured blue bowl
- stoneware cereal bowls
- small cups
- small colorful cup
- cups
- medium serving bowls
- large serving plate
- jen’s juicy fruit tests
Everything is wheel thrown with Warm Brown Stoneware and fired to ^6 in my electric kiln.
As you might be able to tell, I used the Jen’s Juicy Fruit glaze quite a bit. It’s the one at the top of most of the pots that drips down when it’s fired. Still a lot of testing but I’m pretty happy with some of the combinations. Side note: I’d like to add a new page to my site with the glazes that I use, recipes, photos and tips. Something easy for me to link to instead of trying to explain each glaze every time I post some new pots. Maybe by 2014…
But the best news: these aren’t even my favorites of the last kiln load. I’m going to highlight a handful of pots in a special post in the near future. Hopefully they will blow your socks as far off your feet as they did mine. They are the kind of results that make me want to get back down into my lair right away and start cranking out more pots. I’ve just had a few things that are slightly higher priority. Things like processing photos from a handful of photo sessions, working on a website and that pesky day job that keeps cutting into my clay time.
Anyway, check back soon. Thanks for reading!
