Pretty cool to see my name and business in the paper! I had a lot of comments from people that I know and some parents from JES that said they saw it in the paper. At least one person said that they didn’t know I made pottery. So, the article is already paying off!
Here’s my favorite question and answer:
Q: What drew you to doing it?
A: The feeling of the clay. I like how it’s not just art. It can be art but it can be useful. It can be intimate. It’s something you can actually use. I like the “3D-ness†of it. I can also do some design work on the surface of it too and combine different things, three-dimensional and two-dimensional things.
It was a great experience. I still feel like I can be a lot better explaining my work and process and inspiration. Especially when I’m in front of other people. But I guess the only way to get better is practice…
