Is it October yet?

Not much has changed since the last update.  But soon there will be some fancy new features for you to experience.  I found this site called changenotes.com which I hope to utilize on this very blog.  I also signed up for a new technology called Crazy Egg which tracks where visitors click on a web page.  It all sounds pretty fascinating.  And there is still a possibility that my site will be updated.  I’ve just lost focus now that the school year is in full swing.
In other news I have done a few small paintings with a golf theme.  Nothing extraordinary, just something to pass the time and work with paint.  Maybe I’ll put the finishing touches on them and upload a picture.  I didn’t get the Central Noble job that I interviewed for.  I finally got the rejection letter on Tuesday.  It came more as a relief than a disappointment.  It would have been exciting to have an art job but it would have been tough leaving Ligonier Elementary, especially in the middle of the year.  And the drive would have been longer an my wife probably wouldn’t have seen me again until June.  I’m staying busy at Ligonier with Accelerated Math and keeping track of kids that don’t turn in lunch money, and everything else.  The 5th grade cross country season is drawing to a close.  We have the State Meet on Saturday and a home meet next week and our team will run in the Fort Wayne 1 Mile race to finish the season.
In fantasy news…  My wife has come back strong to win a couple weeks of the Us Fantasy League.  I’m also sad to say that she whooped me in Gridiron Challenge last week.  I’m still king of Pigskin Pickem though.  We’ll see what happens this weekend….  Maybe between football games I’ll do some painting or finish my website…

Less teeth, more wisdom?

I survived…  By some miracle I am still alive.  Okay, it was only my wisdom teeth….  But I am glad to report that the life of this blog and my new website (which will be updated soon) will not be cut short by any disaster of oral surgery.

So what’s up?

Here I am, back in the lab.  Another school year has begun at Ligonier Elementary.  And new opportunities continue to present themselves.  I am now the Cross Country coach for the 5th grade team at the Middle School.  The season starts monday… ready or not.  I’ve also gained some new responsibilities around the school which I won’t talk about because they are top secret (or very boring).  Pre-season football is underway and the Lions won a game.  Now we’ll see if they can win a game during the regular season….  The Tigers, on the other hand, are making me a baseball fan again.  I have currently won the first TWO weeks of the US Weekly Fantasy League.  It looks like my wife isn’t going to blow me out of the water after all….  I’m getting my wisdom teeth removed on the 29th, so I have that to look forward to.  I just read John and Claire’s latest entries.  It looks like they are having a good time.  (If you need some good reading material click on “Stepping Out of the Boat” on the right side of the page.)  Oh yeah, my website….  It was coming along nicely… but then I got busy.  I might just put up what I have done and then add to it when I finish little pieces of it.

I guess that’s a glimpse into my life at the moment.  Isn’t blogging fun?!?!

Like Sleeping in a Teepee…

I finally got my wife to go camping with me!  We planned a trip with our friends down to Turkey Run State Park.  It happened a couple weeks ago but I haven’t uploaded any pictures until now.  [Read more…]

Fun with Millie (working with pics)

Well, I’m trying to figure out the best way to get images into my posts.  I’ve looked around at some different plugins and things but I’m still not sure which one to use.  So I guess I’ll just use my standard method: trial and error.  So here are some pictures using just the standard WordPress Post tools.

My wife and I got to puppy sit for our friends a while ago.  We got to take care of a cute boxer puppy named Millie.  What a good dog!

It was tough to give Millie back when her owners returned from their trip.  Maybe now I can talk my wife into getting a dog in the future….
